This Act became law in December, 2010.
Under this law, any entity "that deliberately seeks to defraud, cause harm, or wrongfully obtain anything of value" as a result of caller ID "spoofing" may be subject to fines of up to $10,000 for each violation, three times that for each day of continuing violation, with a maximum of ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
This is very bad news for Ryon Gambill, Marauder Corporation, Bill Collector in a Box and his other dishonest "debt collection" and "skip tracing" operations.
One of his "tricks" is to send "CPS" on caller ID, causing people to think it is Child Protective Services.
If Gambill continues to do this, he will soon be out of business. Make sure you include his home address, 75142 La Sierra Drive, Palm Desert, CA 92211 in your complaint!
It remains to be seen what Experian thinks of this new law, and whether or not it will cause them to reconsider their relationship with Gambill and Marauder.
